It was nerve-wracking. She wanted to hold onto the one withdrawing and tell him not to go. But of course, unless he pulled out, he couldn’t push back in. It was crazy but it happened time and time again as the urge to make them stop and move together almost overpowered her.
Finally they began fucking her faster, harder, more dynamically. Phoenix let her body relax between them, held there by their sweat slicking her skin and theirs. Their scents were heavy in the air around her as they pumped harder and faster, constantly filling her one by one. Her cunt was full, but her ass was empty. And then it was her ass that was full, and her cunt that was empty. She was so close to coming, so close. Almost.
Her entire body convulsed in a massive orgasm, taking her from close to over the cliff in a nanosecond. She dug her fingernails into Lachlan’s shoulders as her body vibrated so hard she was surprised the bed wasn’t shaking. As she came she heard Callum sigh and her ass was filled with heat. As always they’d waited for her to come before taking their own release. She needed to remember to thank them for that. Few men would be so considerate.
Callum slid off the bed and disappeared into the hallway. Her brain was trying to tell her something but Phoenix was beyond thinking. She lay limply on Lachlan’s chest.
“Um. Phoenix, where’s the bathroom?”
Oh, yes, that’s what her brain had been trying to remind her about.
“It’s a little tricky.”
* * * *
Callum watched as Phoenix slithered off the bed, her hair a wild tangle of tresses. As she landed on her feet, she stared at them as if surprised they were still on the ends of her legs. Or maybe she’d forgotten they’d just fucked her wearing her high heels. Likely he had bruises on his legs from those shoes, but damn, it’d felt good to fuck her with them digging into him, holding him against her back.
Her apartment was small, just a living room and a bedroom. The door they’d entered by, from the fire escape, opened directly into the living room and the bedroom was joined to the living room by a hallway that was only half a dozen paces long. The hallway ended in a door which he supposed was another exit. It didn’t look like an internal, into-a-bathroom kind of door.
Yet she went straight to it. He was about to apologize for being stupid when she opened the door to reveal just a toilet, nothing else. She stepped into the miniscule room and straddled the toilet, facing him. He couldn’t imagine what the fuck she was doing until she reached up to the inside top of the door and unclipped a fiberglass sheet with a shower rose attached to it. Phoenix pulled it out a little way to demonstrate.
“When you shut the door behind you, pull here and the shower will pop out. I’ll get some towels and leave them in the hallway for you both.” She wiggled out of the tiny room and waved him in.
Callum backed into the bathroom—if that’s what it could be called—and shut the door. After dealing with the condom he pulled the tiny lever and released the shower. The shower rose extended only about three or four inches from the fiberglass backing on the door which left him almost nowhere to stand. His right elbow smacked into the wall, causing him to yelp, as he washed his hair. Then, when he turned around to wash his back, he slammed his knee into the facilities and just about fell over as he lost his balance. “Fucking hell. This is a death trap.”
It took him a couple of attempts to fold the shower back against the wall because he was all wet and slippery now, so by the time he stepped out of the tiny room it was with the mental promise to himself never to use it again.
He wrapped a huge fluffy pink towel around himself and walked back to the bedroom. “The towel matches the bruises on my elbow and my knee. How do you cope with that…that…I refuse to call it a bathroom.”
“Half bath?”
“More like a quarter bath.”
“You’re such a princess,” said Lachlan, heading out the door.
“Watch your elbows,” he called after his friend.
“You’re both bigger than me, but I guess I’m just used to it. But the rent here is really cheap. It suits me.”
Callum smiled at her. She’d brushed and braided her hair and taken off the shoes. She was wearing a silky caftan and still looked like the sexiest woman he’d ever seen.
“Perhaps next time you could come to our home. It’s a bit out of town, and an old building, but it has a full-size bathroom with a tub.”
They were interrupted by a yell from Lachlan.
“I bet he bashed his elbow. I told him to watch out,” said Callum.
“Actually the hot water—”
“How much fucking water did you use, Callum? It just went cold on me and I’m only half done.” Lachlan hadn’t bothered with a towel and his hair was still a mass of soapy bubbles.
“Who’s being a princess now?”
“Sorry. I forgot to mention that. You could heat some water in the kitchen to rinse off your hair if you like. I usually just finish showering in the cold water really fast.”
Lachlan turned around and left and Callum tried not to laugh. Yes, they’d definitely be going back to their own house next time. He hadn’t had cold showers since he was a little kid at summer camp and he didn’t plan to start having them now.
Then he remembered she hadn’t had a shower yet. “What about you?”
“I’ll shower in the morning before going to work.”
Lachlan was back wrapped in a pink towel that matched the one he was wearing.
“Next time we’ll go back to the farm. We have a man-sized shower and hot water.”
Phoenix laughed. “Callum already said that.”
“Seriously, how do you cope with that tiny little shower?”
“It’s useful to be able to sit on the facilities sometimes. Or put my foot up on it to wash my toes.”
Callum just stared at her.
“Really.” She laughed.
That’s when he realized she would make it fun. That she was the kind of person who would always see the positive side in everything. Damn, he loved her so much.
The men both got dressed and then Callum pulled her warm, soft body against his to kiss her. “Thank you, Phoenix. You’re very special to me.” He wished he could say a lot more. He wanted to tell his little witch that he loved her. But he hadn’t had that conversation with Lachlan yet. They’d talk in the car on the way home, though. He wanted her so badly they really needed to explain to her that she belonged to them both now. Which meant not just showing her the farm, but also telling her about their wolf-side.
Fuck. How are we going to do that? What if she turns away from us in disgust? I can’t bear to lose her now.
Chapter Five
Two days later, Phoenix was sitting at her desk at work looking at BDSM websites and wondering what equipment Lachlan and Callum might use on her in the dungeon on Friday.
She was distracted from the screen by her cell phone bouncing across her desk. She had it set to vibrate, and quickly snatched it up, wondering who’d sent her a message.
It was a picture saying, Thinking of you, and the words were inside a set of handcuffs. Immediately she started searching Google Images looking for something to send back to Callum, who’d sent it to her.
Before she’d decided on something appropriate, her cell phone vibrated again, and this time it was a message from Lachlan. Silence is not always golden was written in big purple letters across a red ball gag.
I need to think of something clever. A sassy comeback to them.
But none of the images she looked at were at all helpful. Finally she used the Paint program and made a big green sign that simply said, Bring it on.
The next day when her cell phone vibrated she clicked on the message to see a picture of a set of traffic lights with the text, The countdown to Friday has begun.
“Dammit I need to think up something good.”
“Why? What for?” asked Violet.
Phoenix hadn’t realized she’d spoken aloud. “Callum and Lachlan are sending me smart-ass messages
and I can’t think of anything even better to send back to them.”
“You can’t? I’m shocked,” Violet teased her.
“I’m kind of shocked myself. Here, come and look at the messages and give me some ideas.”
Violet crossed the room and picked up Phoenix’s cell phone. “Are you sure this is safe? You aren’t going to destroy my innocence are you?”
Phoenix laughed. I don’t think there’s too much danger of that. Come on. Help me out here.”
Violet pulled up a second chair and they sat together scrolling through pages of images. Finally Phoenix said, “Maybe copying them isn’t smart. We need to do something different.”
“Are they used to working with words, or with numbers?” asked Violet.
“I don’t really know. Callum is the web host for a couple of blogs so probably words I guess.”
“In that case why don’t you compose a message and hide it inside a word puzzle for them to solve.”
“Oh, I like that idea.”
Phoenix thought for a long time and then grinned. She’d remembered the name of one of the animal shelters Callum worked for. She pulled up their home page and wrote him a message in code, using the words on the home page as her guide. The only clue she gave him was “line number then word number.”
Her message was, “I wonder how long it will take you to solve this?”
All day she received texts from both Callum and Lachlan begging for another clue, but finally, the next day her answer came back in code. When she deciphered it, the words were, “Got it, little witch.”
Playing the game with them had been fun, but not as much fun as the thought of being with the men again. They were so endlessly considerate. She knew they’d always put her needs before their own. Lachlan’s punishments might hurt, but damn, they always aroused her to the edges of release, yet never quite let her climax. He was fucking talented to get that correct every time.
Late Thursday afternoon, when her cell phone rang with a withheld number, she had a moment’s panic that it might be one of the men, or even the BDSM club itself, canceling the session for the next day.
“Hi.”
“Is that you, Phoenix?”
“Mom? Where are you ringing from? Are you all right? Is Dad okay? What’s the problem?”
“We’re both perfectly well, thank you, Phoenix. We need you to come and spend the day with us tomorrow. I rang now while you’re at work so you can book a personal leave day for tomorrow. We’ll expect you at eight thirty. Good-bye.”
“But Mom…Mom? Mom? Dammit!”
Violet’s voice came from the other side of the room, “Is everything okay there, Phoenix?”
“Fuck if I know. Mom just rang from a withheld number and told me I have to take tomorrow off work and be at her home at eight thirty.”
“Did she sound like herself? If she’s going to be at her own home it doesn’t sound as if she’s ill.”
“She sounded just like normal and she didn’t answer my questions. Ah, fuck. I’m supposed to be meeting the men at The Dom’s Dungeon tomorrow night. What if this runs late?”
“Maybe you should call her back and ask her?”
“Yes. No. Ugh! I’d better ask for tomorrow off first.”
Phoenix opened up a new e-mail and then sat staring at the screen wondering what to say. Her mother wasn’t ill. At least as far as she knew. Finally she typed—
I apologize for the short notice, but my mom just called and she wants me to spend the day with her tomorrow and won’t say why. Please, may I take a day off tomorrow?
Then she sat staring at her computer screen for even longer and finally texted both Lachlan and Callum.
Mom asked me to spend the day with her and Dad tomorrow. I have no idea what the problem is or how long it’ll take to sort out.
Her e-mail beeped and the screen read—
Sure. Let me know if the weekend isn’t long enough to sort out the issues and you need Monday as well.
Well, that was one hurdle cleared. She was still holding her cell phone which vibrated.
If you need any help let us know.
That was from Callum.
Text me at six tomorrow with an update. We can meet you after you visit your mom if you can’t make it to the dungeon.
That was Lachlan. The slightly bossy tone came through even in a text message. But damn, damn, and double damn. Why did it have to be tomorrow? Well hopefully she’d get everything sorted by lunchtime and be back on track again. What the fuck had gone wrong with her parents?
Phoenix spent the entire evening worrying that they’d had bad news, or health issues they wouldn’t mention except in person. By the time she arrived at their home, which was a damn long drive that early in the morning, she was almost a nervous wreck.
Her mom answered the door looking chic, fresh, and perfectly healthy.
“You look good, Mom.”
“I’ve had my hair and nails done, ready for the cruise. We leave tomorrow.”
“What cruise? Where are you going?”
Her mother led her out into the kitchen where the dining table was set up with a jug of ice water, glasses, notepads, and pencils, as if for a business convention. Except it was clearly set for only three people and her father was already sitting in his usual chair. Phoenix slid into the seat she’d always used growing up, opposite her mom.
“Now can you please tell me what the he—heck is going on?”
Her mother gave her a stare which told her she hadn’t been quite quick enough to change “hell” to “heck,” before turning to smile at her dad.
“I’ve finally convinced your mom to take that cruise we always wanted to go on to Alaska. We’re leaving tomorrow to fly to Anchorage. We’re spending two days in Anchorage and then we cruise from Whittier to Vancouver. We’re staying two more days in Vancouver before flying to Toronto. We’ll have three days in Toronto, two days at Niagara Falls, and then we come home again.”
“The cruise is for nine days,” her mother added.
“So that’s what, three weeks?” Phoenix was counting the days in her head as she spoke. “That’s an awesome vacation, Mom and Dad. I’m really pleased you’re finally going to Alaska and Canada. But why—”
“The world is a dangerous place, my child. Airplanes crash, boats sink. You need to know all about our personal effects in case we don’t make it back home again.”
Phoenix just stared at her father. “Dad, you’ve been watching the wrong kind of movies. You’re more likely to die in a car accident in your hometown than be on a boat that sinks or an airplane that crash-lands.”
“Your father is correct, Phoenix. It’s time you knew about our wills and where the title deeds to the house are kept and such things.”
Phoenix did not believe for as much as a single second that her parents would be in danger traveling to Alaska and Canada. Now if they’d been planning a tour to Afghanistan, or Syria, or Iraq, she would have been worried. However, arguing with them right now was not a good idea. She poured herself a glass of water, picked up a pencil—a pencil for fuck’s sake, why not a pen?—and pulled the nearest notepad in front of her. “Okay. Let’s do it.”
At eight that night, feeling as if she’d been there a lot longer than not quite twelve hours, Phoenix leaned against her car and texted her men.
I’m free.
Her phone rang. “Where are you exactly and I’ll give you directions to our farm.”
“I’m a hell of a long way from Richmond,” she answered Lachlan.
“That’s okay. We have all weekend. If you’re tired when you get here you can sleep late. Now give me your exact location so I can guide you the best way.”
By a fortunate coincidence, their farm was on the same side of town as her parents lived, except it was a whole lot closer to Richmond than they were. It was still a long drive but at least she didn’t have to cross town and travel right out the other side.
Phoenix settled back in her car for the long
drive, happy to have her parents all organized and to be seeing her men, even if she had missed the dungeon appointment she’d been looking forward to so very much. Maybe next week instead. At least she’d have some time with the men. That was good.

Lachlan watched as Callum pulled a baking tray of hot, fresh, double-chocolate chocolate-chip cookies out of the oven and placed them on the counter to cool. He’d suffered a huge pang of disappointment when Phoenix had told them she had to visit her parents. That had been followed by an overwhelming sensation of guilt that they might be ill and he was being selfish. Learning that they were well was a relief and now he could genuinely feel sorry that he, Callum, and Phoenix had missed their playtime together. However, he had plans for tomorrow to overcome that. For the entire weekend in fact, if she agreed to spend it with them.
While Callum had rushed around the house, changing the bed linens and sweeping the floors, Lachlan had been in the basement, setting out candles and hanging chains from the ceiling. Between the two of them, whatever Phoenix needed was ready for her.
Callum laid down his heat-proof gloves and looked Lachlan right in the face. “You know we need to tell her we’re wolves. This romance can’t progress the way we want it to with that big stumbling block between us.”
Lachlan knew exactly what his best friend meant. “I do know. I’m just not sure how to do it. I’d meant to talk to Simon and Othniel but haven’t had the opportunity. I told you I’d already spoken to Elijah but Ryia knew he was a wolf. Apparently she can sense shape-shifters or something. So he was no help to me.”
