  Chapter One

  “Lie on the floor. Pretend it’s a bed. Hold your arms up near the bedposts as if they’re chained there. Or tied up. Hmm. Chain or rope? What do you think I should use?” asked Curtis.

  “I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.” Nevertheless, Nicholas lay down and stretched his arms up as instructed. As far as he knew they weren’t planning to film any capture-type movies, so likely this was a private BDSM scene Curtis was thinking about.

  They were in Nicholas’s office at the movie studio they co-owned and the floor was concrete, not very comfortable for such role-playing games.

  “What now?” asked Nicholas.

  “What we need to do is invite Autumn out for an evening and romance her off her feet, out of her clothing, and into our bed,” said Curtis.

  “I don’t have a problem with that plan. How are we going to do it?” asked Nicholas.

  “Yeah, well, I haven’t gotten all the details worked out yet.”

  “You’re the Dom. It’s your job to plan the scenes.”

  “I’m working on it.”

  They both laughed.

  “Well, in that case, I’d likely go with rope. You don’t want to damage her skin,” said Nicholas.

  “Good point. To arouse her I’ll need to tease her and have her struggling and wiggling against her bindings. Hmm, maybe padded handcuffs would work even better.”

  Nicholas jumped up from the floor. “Oh yes. I can picture that.” He licked his lips at the thought of a naked Autumn highly aroused, laid out for his hands to touch, his eyes to feast on her luscious curves.

  “I like that idea.”

  “I’ll look through the storeroom for some romantic sets. I’m thinking we’ll use studio one, as there’s room for a meal table, some sofas, and a nice bedroom setting. There’s that California king-size bed with the mirrored headboard that I’d like to use,” said Curtis.

  “Remember that red velvet ladies’ fainting couch? Now that’d be sexy to use, too.”

  “Shit, yes. Come with me now, and we’ll plan it properly, in the studio. The idea of the mirrored headboard and the fainting couch is too good to waste,” said Curtis.

  Now Nicholas understood. Curtis had decided to increase the action from the two of them dating Autumn and sharing her, to actual full-on double penetration, and moving to a commitment between the three of them. This was just his way of checking that Nicholas was on board with the
program.

  And oh yeah, he was on board with it all right. He’d been lusting after Autumn Hayes since the moment he’d first seen her at the practice basketball match before a community basketball tournament they’d entered.

  Ramona, who worked for them at the small boutique movie studio he and Curtis Cole co-owned, had set her heart on forming a team and participating in the day-long round-robin competition. Ramona, a puma shape-shifter, had talked some of her pack into playing, but not enough people for a team, so she’d come to Nicholas and Curtis, wanting them to join it as well.

  Autumn was a half-panther, with dark-brown shoulder-length hair and chocolate-brown eyes, and in panther form her fur was so dark a brown as to be almost black.

  He, Nicholas, was a werewolf shape-shifter. People said cats and dogs didn’t get along, but this sexy kitten made his wolf sit up and howl with delight.

  That basketball match had ended in a riot with two people from the crowd trying to abduct Ramona. Omar, who had since claimed her, punched the man who’d first touched her, igniting an all-in brawl, and Tor, another wolf shape-shifter, had gotten knifed in the resulting melee.

  But it had all ended up okay, with Ramona escaping from her human captors and him and Curtis getting to know Autumn and the BDSM community Carnal Connections, where the shape-shifters lived, much better.

  Nicholas hurried after Curtis, trying to remember where the fainting couch was stored. Storeroom three maybe? And the big bed? Likely that’d be there, too. He couldn’t wait to move their romance up with Autumn to the next level. A much more exciting level for all of them. Double fucking her? Hell, yes! He could hardly wait for that.

  “Are you sure leaving the property at night is a good idea? The ram-raiders were released from prison less than a week ago, you know,” said Leticia.

  “That’s true, and I haven’t forgotten. But they’re all humans, so I don’t think they’ll be a problem for me. Also, they weren’t exactly smart with their attack, either. I mean, they ram-raided heavy metal gates in an old truck and weren’t all wearing seat belts while they did it. That has to rank as seriously stupid, don’t you think?” replied Autumn.

  “I guess so. Besides, Ramona and Gaynor and Verity and Serena have all still been going to work each day, haven’t they? I suppose I’m being overly cautious because of the way my father acted.”

  Autumn gave Leticia a quick hug. She’d come a long way out from under her father’s control and mated with the men of her choice. “It has to be hard for you to relearn things he misled you about. You’re doing fine. But I’ll be fine, too, with Nicholas and Curtis. A wolf and a Dom, they’ll protect me. Not that I really need protecting. Besides, there’s no way I could not go when they invite me out. Our relationship may never develop into anything serious and ongoing, but meanwhile I love spending time with them both.”

  Leticia nodded then smiled. Autumn thought she still looked a bit worried, but then Leticia’s father had been crazy with fear. It was lucky Leticia was still normal despite all he did. Autumn twirled around, making the floor-length multicolored skirt swirl around her feet. “So what color nail polish should I wear, Leticia? I have dark green, dark blue, or red.”

  “Red is too ordinary. That skirt is amazing, not ordinary. I’d go with green or blue. Likely green, I think.”

  “Green it is.”

  “Where are they taking you?” asked Leticia.

  “They haven’t said, but I did ask if we could stop by the movie studio. Gaynor and Ramona have talked about it so often, I’d really like to see it myself. I understand it’s just wooden sets, but I’d still like to look, if you know what I mean.”

  “Yes, I do. Don’t Universal Studios and places like that actually run real tours?”

  “Oh yes, but they have all sorts of exciting things happening. Buildings falling down, stuff like that. Nicholas and Curtis’s movie studio is really small. I think they said they’ve only got the two big sets indoors, but each can have several different scenes set up simultaneously. And outdoors I’m not sure what’s there. I think, again, it’s just wooden sets they change around or repaint for different things they’re filming,” said Autumn.

  “I do recall Gaynor riding a motorcycle through a mall with people pretending to be shoppers. Maybe you’ll see that set. You can tell me all about it tomorrow.”

  “Hi, Leticia. Hi, Autumn.” Autumn’s breath hitched at the sight of Curtis. “Sex on a stick” was the only way to describe him. Hastily, Autumn dropped the pot of nail polish she’d just used into her purse. It was a huge purse, and people often laughed at her for carrying it, but really, she could fit anything she thought she might need inside it as well as whatever knitting project she was currently completing. Knitting was her job as well as her hobby. Autumn worked for a yarn company making the display items for their catalogues and website, which meant she did a lot of knitting but also all kinds of other crafts involving various uses of yarns.

  “I know Oliver hates you being left alone, Leticia. Where do you want to go now? We’ll walk with you there before leaving,” said Autumn. They’d been waiting in the communal sitting room in the main building where Autumn often set up her craft projects to work on.

  “Our house renovations aren’t finished yet, so Oliver doesn’t really like me being alone there, either. Maybe the barn? There’s sure to be people to talk to there.”

  “That’s one of the great things about living here. There’s always someone to talk to. You don’t have to be alone unless you want to be,” replied Autumn.

  “Do you think you could be happy living somewhere other than here?” asked Curtis.

  Autumn guessed this was not an idle, casual question, so she answered it more fully than she might otherwise have done. “I think people are more important to me than places. I was happy living on the farm until that became too small and not really safe. I’m happy living here. If I had friends and family around me, I expect I’d come to be happy almost anywhere.”

  Leticia nodded. “It wasn’t until I couldn’t just talk to people when I wanted to that I understood how important people are to me, too.”

  Autumn couldn’t think of anything really kind to say about the way Leticia’s father had treated her, so she was glad they arrived at the main barn the community used as a gathering place just then.

  There was a board game spread out on a coffee table, and Jill, an older human woman who’d lived at Carnal Connections since the BDSM community first began, waved to Leticia to come over and join them. “Bye and thanks,” said Leticia as she entered the barn.

  Autumn slung the strap of her purse higher up on her shoulder and faced Curtis. “So, where are we going?”

  “It’s a secret. But you do look good enough to eat,” Curtis said, dropping a soft kiss on her cheek.

  Very naughtily, Autumn let her gaze quite obviously drift over his cock. It was a nice long, hard ridge in the front of his dress pants. “Uh-huh. I can see a snack that looks ready to eat, too. However, I was thinking about a more nutritionally correct supper than that to begin with.”

  “I’m glad you said ‘to begin with.’”

  “And I notice you didn’t answer the question.”

  “It’s a surprise,” said Curtis.

  Autumn gave up on trying to get an answer. Curtis was a Dom after all, and Nicholas was a wolf, which was almost as bad when it came to eliciting a straight answer to a question they didn’t plan to respond to. Mentally, she shrugged. She’d find out soon enough. She liked these two men very much. So far they’d spent a few evenings together and she’d been very happy with the orgasms that had resulted. She knew they wanted more from her than a casual date and she was coming to think that’s what she wanted herself. But could a panther—well, a half-panther—and a werewolf really ever have a happily ever after? Somehow Autumn thought a happily ever after was way too much to ask for from a werewolf and a Dom.   “Exactly. It’s the same white SUV, just painted with water-based paint that’ll wash off in the rain or the carwash. So much cheaper than buying a new car. Couple of hours with a paintbrush and a big can of paint and ‘Voila! New car,’” said Nicholas.

  “What a nifty idea.”

  Curtis leaned against her. “Oh, yes. We’re full of nifty ideas. Got a few of them lined up for tonight.”

  Autumn gave a little shiver. Oh yes. She was ready to experience some of their clever bedroom ideas tonight. Her panties dampened and her belly clenched hard at the thought. They both knew how to rev her engine and send her pulse racing from zero to one hundred in no time at all. She could still hardly believe that two such handsome men were interested in her. Two men!
