  Chapter One

  Piper Boyle tipped her head back and stared at the ceiling of her cottage. It was a nice little cottage, clean and tidy with soft, snuggly navy blue blankets on the bed and thick fleecy navy-blue towels in the bathroom. But she was damn sick of spending time in it. Tonight she’d been promised that her hosts would finally—finally!—take her into the dungeon cave underneath the bedroom of her cottage.

  She’d spent most of her spare time down there, looking at the equipment and imagining what it’d feel like to be punished by one of her hosts.

  She and her three friends, Maddy, Aria, and Mackenzie, had come here to the Caves of Correction for a sexy BDSM vacation. They were here for an entire week of sun, sand, surf, and sex. So far Piper hadn’t even seen any of her friends.   Piper climbed off the bed, smoothing the blanket as she did so, and wandered into the bathroom. It was much larger than a normal hotel bathroom. For a start, there was a full-sized tub as well as a standalone shower. She left it to him to massage the data, twist the facts, lie, and cheat to enhance his sales results.

  She’d really, really hoped this vacation would leave her refreshed and restored so she could go home and find herself a Dom. If her sex life was good, then her shitty work life wouldn’t be so soul-destroying. Right now she wasn’t sure she’d ever find out. Next week she’d be home again, back at work again, and likely nothing would have changed.

  Maybe instead of cleaning her already clean apartment every Sunday she should look at moving to another state, a warmer, sunnier one, where even if her job was horrible she could go hiking or to the beach on the weekends.

  California? But she’d heard there was a lot of unemployment there.

  Florida? But she was frightened of alligators.

  Hawaii? But that would be a hell of a long journey.

  Texas?

  Her grandmother spoke in her mind. “You just stay right where you are, dear. Everything will work out fine. You mark my words.”

  Piper dropped the flogger she was holding. “Shit, Grandma. Can’t you knock or something before talking to me? I wasn’t expecting you. Are you sure everything will be okay?”

  Piper closed her eyes and concentrated on picturing her beloved grandma sitting on her favorite cane chair on the stoop of her old house. But she didn’t speak to Piper again.

  Still, Piper did feel more relaxed. Sometimes she had a full conversation with the old lady. Sometimes, like now, Grandma just entered her thoughts, left a message, and disappeared. But her visits always made Piper feel better. She picked up the flogger and hung it back on the rack before heading upstairs again.

  Piper hadn’t even reached the top when her cottage door opened and all three of her hosts came inside. Each was dripping wet despite wearing a poncho and a raincoat, and each was loaded down with backpacks and parcels. What now? Would she finally experience sex and BDSM or was something quite different about to happen?

  Aged thirty-three, Ryder was the oldest of the three Wade brothers. He was three years older than Zac and five years older than Eliot. Eliot was the smart one, though, and all through his adolescence Ryder had worked damn hard so his baby brother didn’t outthink and outsmart him at everything they did. Now they were adults, and Ryder was content to sit back and let Eliot do his thing. The kid had the brains. He might was well use them.

  Eliot had seen the potential for growing hydroponic plants and had sourced a watering system that didn’t waste their precious drinking supply. Now most of their home was a hydroponic garden, growing a huge variety of fresh vegetables for the island community to eat. They were already talking about expanding the garden into other people’s houses and growing a crop to sell on the mainland and bring the community more income. It had to be something that would travel well though, and that was comparatively scarce, so it’d fetch a high enough price to cover the cost of transporting it to market by helicopter. Still, Ryder was sure Eliot would figure it all out before long.

  Meanwhile, the three of them had agreed to host a woman for the Caves of Correction in the hope that she might be their mate, or, if not her, the next one or the one after that. This was their first time as hosts, and they were determined to look after their woman and give her the highest possible standard of vacation here on the island.

  They’d taken turns at showing her the attractions, teaching her the activities all the islanders enjoyed, and making sure her meals were top quality. Ryder had spent a long time trying to decide the optimum time for her first taste of the dungeon and tonight was the night. What he hadn’t allowed for in his calculations was a fucking hurricane.

  Hurricane Nathan had been wandering around this area of the Atlantic Ocean for several days now and had turned away from their island, which suited them fine. But then the fucking nuisance had turned back, and now it was approaching fast, and threatening to be a category three hurricane. Category three meant it was damn dangerous.

  Ryder and his brothers had made their house as safe as they could, then collected extra food, beverages, clothing, and blankets and had come to wait out the weather with Piper, their assigned guest. The good news was that since the safest place to wait for the hurricane to pass overhead was in the cave, the dungeon scene could go ahead as planned. The problem was that he’d expected to follow it up with the ménage sex that she’d asked for on her contract in her lovely big bed was upstairs. They’d either have to sleep on the floor or forego the sex. Right now he was thinking the floor would be the better choice. It wasn’t what he’d wanted for their very special guest, though.

  Piper Boyle was a delightful person with long blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She had willingly cooperated with all their sightseeing ventures, although Zac said she’d been nervous about rock climbing at first, but she’d still done it and done it well. She’d certainly been a delight to his eyes when he’d taken her swimming and snorkeling. He’d been worried she might sunburn and had insisted she coat her skin thickly with sunblock, but she hadn’t burned and had been far more tempting than any fish could ever be in her plain black swimsuit with her long lithe legs and slender arms as she swam smoothly and sleekly through the ocean.

  Ryder juggled his two backpacks and a huge black trash bag of bedding and extra clothing down the stairs of her cottage and into the dungeon. Behind him, Eliot maneuvered his burdens, and Zac locked the door to the cottage. It was Zac’s job to ensure the cottage was secure for the hurricane while he and Eliot set up the dungeon as the place where they’d wait out the storm.

 
But first he had to tell her the news. She was standing to the right of the dungeon doorway staring from him to Eliot and back again, obviously confused by the backpacks and parcels.

  “What’s going on? I see you’re all wet from the rain, but this is a hell of a lot more luggage than just a change of clothing.”

  Ryder couldn’t help but laugh. “Unfortunately the rain is just the start. Hurricane Nathan has decided to pay the island a visit. He’s already wandered all over the area and might change his mind and disappear again. But in case he doesn’t, we have food and supplies for a few days so we can sit here and wait him out safely.”

  “A hurricane? Excuse me, but the advertising brochures didn’t mention hurricanes.”

  Eliot laughed. “There hasn’t been one since I was a kid. We weren’t expecting Nathan.”

  She came across to them. “Okay. Let me help you. What should I unpack?”

  Ryder smiled back at her. She really was a very easygoing person. Instead of continuing to complain she was offering to help.

  “We need to set up a bed down here. In a little while I’ll help Zac bring in the mattress from your bed for us to sleep on and you can make up the bed down here, if you wish.”

  Ryder unpacked the camping stove and the gas for it and set it up in the corner of the room, and he and Eliot put their food stores beside it. Then they took turns at going upstairs and changing into dry clothing before he and Zac wrestled the big mattress downstairs with the pillows and blankets. Piper remade it into a bed. She also stacked the food more neatly, the taller items at the back, the heavy ones on the bottom, and now it was easy to see everything in their improvised pantry against the wall.
