  Chapter One

  Adelaide Stuart, one of the receptionists at The Dom’s Dungeon BDSM club, was wandering around in one of the party rooms on the second floor of the club. It was being set up for a cosplay party, and she was fascinated by some of the costumes. She was also fascinated by some of the Doms, but she dragged her gaze from them. They might be werewolf shape-shifters, and she couldn’t overcome her fear of the species.

  She’d talked to her friend and co-receptionist, Juliana, about shifters. Juliana told her they were just people like any other person, most good, but one or two bad. But that hadn’t helped Adelaide. Logic told her Juliana was correct. After all, not all the bad people in the world were shape-shifters. Her brain understood that. But her heart still feared what she was trying hard not to categorize as an unnatural species. She was afraid the two men who most attracted her, the Doms who made her pulses pound and her panties dampen, were wolves. Well, maybe not Wade Sullivan. He had blond hair and blue eyes. Most wolves seemed to have dark hair here at The Dom’s Dungeon.

  Mason Barlow’s hair was light brown, and his eyes were hazel, so he wasn’t all that dark either. But she thought he had the look of a wolf about him. He moved very silently and fluidly. Hmm, likely he was a wolf. And since he and Wade were always together, and since wolves were allowed to share a woman, that meant probably Wade, even though he was blond, was also a wolf.

  Dammit. They’re totally delicious to look at and the kind of Doms I like.

  Adelaide had watched Wade and Mason perform in the Stage Lounge here at the BDSM club. Every movement they made was pure poetry.   Dom Wade Sullivan straightened up from where he’d been hunched over, sorting through a box filled with packs of cards. These weren’t ordinary packs, though. He’d need them later when the party got underway.

e and Mason had co-run several special parties. The Dom’s Dungeon was aiming to increase the number of daytime events held in these party rooms, and as full-time staff members here at the dungeon, they were more than happy to co-host workshops and parties as well as fulfill their commitments in the dungeons themselves as Doms.

  They often worked together in Dungeon Eight, either when a sub wanted to be watched as part of her scene or when several subs were being punished simultaneously. In a group situation, even if one Dom was conducting the session, it was helpful to have a second Dom in the room to keep watch over the subs and make sure nothing bypassed the attention of the Dom in charge.

  As fellow wolves, pack brothers who’d grown up together, they understood what each other was thinking and were both able to deal with potential problems for each other before the problem had a chance to grow and cause trouble.

  However, their favorite time was when a single sub wanted to be punished by two Doms simultaneously. That let them work together wholeheartedly in every aspect of the scene from planning, through execution, to aftercare. But what they really needed was to locate the woman who would be their mate, their partner, their own perfect sub forever.

  In many ways, being born a male werewolf shape-shifter was an amazing gift. Wade had grown up in a lively and energetic pack surrounded by other young wolves. They’d all worked together on the farm the pack owned and managed. They’d played together, fought together, and had formed life-long friendships. He and Mason understood each other through and through and respected and trusted each other more than anyone not privileged to share such a lifestyle would understand.

  The only problem was that shape-shifters tended to birth two males for each female. That meant that, when the wolves grew up, they were hard-pressed to find a mate. There just weren’t enough female wolves to go around.

  The Supreme Alpha of North America had approved interspecies marriages and ménage marriages where one woman was shared by two or more men. That helped alleviate the problem somewhat, but it didn’t solve it completely. Because how did a wolf—or several wolves—find the non-wolf woman of his dreams, and say, “Marry me. By the way I’m not human, I’m actually a wolf”?

  It wasn’t going to be easy, and it might not even be possible. The good news was that several wolves here in The Dom’s Dungeon had already managed to find their woman and mate her in a ménage triad. But then again, Ryia, the woman here in this room now, had known Othniel was a wolf. She’d watched some wolves on the beach at a time of enormous crisis in her life and, because of that experience, could instantly recognize wolves. Juliana, the receptionist for the club, had grown up with close friends who were wolves, so she recognized them as well.

  But many people didn’t even believe werewolves existed. They considered them to be just fairytales. And so often the wolf in the fairytale was the bad guy. Take Red Riding Hood, for example. How were he and Mason supposed to not only find their mate but reassure her they weren’t the bad guys, without actually telling her they were wolves?

  Wolves liked to keep their species hidden. They liked to fly under the radar to avoid causing trouble or bringing any unfortunate attention to themselves and their pack. The Dom’s Dungeon definitely didn’t need a whole lot of adverse publicity or scare stories about it being the home of wolves. The BDSM club was running well, increasing in popularity and providing a decent living for a growing group of both wolves and humans. Wade didn’t want to be the stupid guy who caused trouble to all his friends. But he did want to find his woman and settle down. He just didn’t know how the hell to achieve his aims.

  Dom Mason Barlow had paced out the empty space in the center of the party room so he’d know exactly how many steps he could take while he and Wade gave the party-goers a taste of cosplay. None of the daytime parties were ever hardcore. They were all about introducing people to the concept of an area of kinky play and-or BDSM play.

After all, she worked here, and no one had forced her to do that. The co-owners of The Dom’s Dungeon were extremely strict about every aspect of the safe, sane, and consensual rule. If she hadn’t signed a contract of her own free will, they wouldn’t have employed her.

  No, Little Miss Adelaide was both thrilled and worried, and he was just the man to guide her out of that conflicted place and into a zone where she was filled only with passion and enjoyment.   “Oh, I definitely want her. But there’s something holding her back.”

  “I know. She reminds me of a wild horse, never broken to bridle. I think you and I can deal with that problem between us.”

  “It’ll be tricky. It might take a lot of work.”

  “But I’m sure she’ll be worth it.”

  Wade slapped him on the shoulder. “I agree. Let’s do it.”

  Together they walked through the room to where Ad
