  Trinidad could sense that something about this trip was incredibly important to Niel in particular, but also to Kon. However, Kon was worried about Niel so Niel was the central figure here. But Trini couldn’t understand what the worry was all about. Why would it matter if she didn’t think the scenery was all that special? Was this his family’s ancestral lands or something? Was that what it was all about? Niel’s hair and eyes were dark brown and his skin was tanned, but he didn’t look to have Native American blood, and he hadn’t mentioned it, nor had he spoken about a farming background or any link to land here or anywhere else. But perhaps this was his ancestral area or something.

  Kon pulled the blankets out of the car and set them on the grass. It was quite a pretty place, but she could see no walking track to a scenic lookout or anything, so it had to be something about this field itself. She tilted her head right back and looked around. There were some tall trees that seemed old and imposing, but not hundreds of years old. Just well grown. The grass was a rich, lush green, and there were some tiny flowers dotted around which was pretty. They just looked like regular flowers to Trini, not like endangered species or anything unusual. She couldn’t see anything here that was outstanding. Well, if it was special to Niel, she’d be happy to come here. It was certainly a peaceful, relaxing kind of place. There was no traffic noise. She could hear the wind blowing the leaves, and the small sounds of birds in the trees farther away.

  She filled her lungs with air. The scent was of clean fresh plants and grasses, not of city smog. That was nice. In fact, the entire area was nice. Nothing unusual to make it super-special, but nonetheless pleasant. Was that was Niel was trying to say? That they were just ordinary people but deserved their happy ever after anyway? She could certainly agree to that.

  Kon was lying flat on his back on the blanket, his arms crossed under his head, so he could look around a little better.

  Look around at what? The clouds sailing across the sky? The tops of the trees moving in the breeze?

  Nevertheless she went and sat with him, then looked all around for Niel. He’d been at the car and she wondered if he planned to bring the food out, but it seemed a little soon yet. But when she looked back at the SUV he was nowhere in sight. Again she looked everywhere more carefully, and finally she saw movement between some of the more dense undergrowth well over to her right.

  She half expected Niel to be coming toward her with some flowers in his hands, or an explanation on his lips. Instead, the biggest damn dog she’d ever seen appeared out of the bushes. It was dark brown with a long tail and huge paws, which made her think it wasn’t even fully grown yet. Didn’t people say that a puppy grows into its paws? In that case this dog was going to the size of a small horse when it finished growing.

  The dog was gazing at her, but not as if it was sizing her up to be its lunch, or even as if it wanted her to throw it a stick to chase or something. More as if she had the authority to tell it to stay or go. And that was crazy. Niel was the one who’d brought them to this place. Niel was the only one who knew what was going on. Well, maybe Kon did as well, but if he did, he’d made it very clear he wasn’t going to get involved. He was lying unmoving on the blanket.

  Trini narrowed her eyes as she stared at the dog. There was something about it—dark brown fur, eyes that were either black or dark brown, and a strongly muscled body.

  Suddenly she was back in the adult shop yesterday when she’d been looking at various things and Ryia had said, “Well, well, well. He’s a wolf that one.”

  At the time she’d thought Ryia meant a wolf as in a man who really appealed to women, and she’d had no doubt Ryia was right. But now Trinidad understood Ryia had been speaking literally. Niel had not disappeared. Nor was he a big dog. He was a wolf. A werewolf shape-shifter. Paranormal creatures such as wolves were fucking real after all. Excitement raced through her veins, little flickers of fierce joy as if she’d just orgasmed, but centered on her heart this time, instead of in her cunt.

  “Hi there, Niel. I’ve always believed that paranormal beings were real. It’s nice to be proven correct. Why don’t you show me what a handsome wolf you are?”

  He tipped his head to the side, as if waiting for her to give him instructions, but she was still coming to terms with the fact of his existence. It was one thing to believe in werewolves intellectually. It was quite something else to meet one and to learn that a man she’d fucked was one in real life.

  She sat still and silent and waited. Finally he swished his tail and took off with a leap, running fast across the grass and disappearing between the trees. In and out he raced, vanishing and reappearing, occasionally jumping over a small bush with a lithe leap that a horse might have envied.

  Finally he came back across the grass, stopping close to her, but as if respecting that she might not want him close enough to touch.

  “Let me stroke your fur.”

  He rested at her feet, like the very large dog she’d originally thought he was, and she petted his fur. “It’s very soft. I thought a wild animal would have a harsher coat.”

  After a little while he stood up and shook himself. Trinidad assumed that was a question for her. “Yes, change back, Niel. There are rather a lot of things you need to tell me. Like, how did you become a wolf?.”

  He stepped back from her a few paces, and shimmered, and then he was Niel again. He sat on the blanket and Kon sat up and handed him his jeans, which Trini hadn’t even noticed Kon was holding.

  “The shape-shifter gene is passed from parent to child, like any other hereditary thing. If I bite you nothing will happen to you.”

  She nodded. That fit with things she’d read in books.

  “I personally don’t have to change at any particular time. Once in a while works for me. But some wolves need to change more often. Simon likes to change every day otherwise his skin becomes itchy.”

  Once again Trini nodded. So Simon was a werewolf shape-shifter as well. She wondered how many other people who worked for The Dom’s Dungeon were shape-shifters. “Is the dungeon a werewolf pack?” she asked.

  “Not as such but it has…um…links to the wolves.”

  She smiled. “That person who can get me a job if I need another one. Is he, like the HR coordinator for werewolves, or something?”

  “Something like that,” said Kon, joining the conversation.

  “Okay, well, a brief rundown on me. My parents are werewolves.”

  “And they still live with a pack. You told me originally they still lived in the same place as always.”

  “That’s right. Over the past few generations fewer and fewer female shape-shifters have been born, and the Supreme Alpha of North America has agreed to shape-shifters mating women of other species, and also to ménages. The difference between a shape-shifter mating and a human marriage is that all parties have to consent to the marriage, and there’s no divorce. Matings are for life.”

  Kon picked up her hand. “And that’s what we want with you, Trinidad. You must know how much we both want you and love you. Now we want you to agree to mate us, to marry us, to live with us forever.”

  Trini shivered. She did want both these men. She knew she loved them. Of course, she hadn’t predicted that Niel was a wolf. Hell, she hadn’t even guessed they were BDSM Doms at first. But the BDSM was something she found herself craving intensely, and she was reasonably certain the whole shape-shifting thing would be quite easy to adjust to as well. Although it might take her a week or two to actually remember that Niel wasn’t one hundred percent human.

  “You never change involuntarily, correct? It’s always a definite decision you make?”

  “That’s right. Some people don’t like paranormal beings. They hate and fear them. That’s why we need to keep our differences hidden. I’ve already told you about Simon, and I could see in your fa
ce that you’ve guessed there may be others at the dungeon as well. But for each of them, their privacy is essential. We can’t risk a vigilante coming after us all to kill us.”

  “I understand that. I won’t tell you on. But you need to know Ryia guessed you were a wolf. She said so yesterday.”

  “What?”

  “Fucking hell.”

  Both men turned to her and stared at her. She nodded and said, “She said, ‘Well, well, well. He’s a wolf that one,’ in the store yesterday.”

  “Did you notice if she was wearing any rings? Or a collar?” asked Kon.

  “I didn’t notice, but I don’t think so. I mean, if she’d been wearing a collar I think I would have noticed.”

  “Maybe we need to send a few of the bachelors to her store,” said Niel.

  Trinidad laughed. “So you’ll help her find a mate, and get better deals for your supplies as well as maintain your secrets?”

  “Maybe. You never know.”

  “But what about us? What’s your decision, Trinidad?” asked Niel.

  Suddenly both the men were sitting very close to her, their bodies encompassing her around, and their faces mere inches from hers.

  “I do love you both, very much. I won’t try to pretend anything else. I’m more than ready to be your submissive and have you both as my Masters. I’m ready to move into your apartment, although I expect there’ll be some adjustments to be made by all of us over that. And I will mate you, but I think I’ll need to take it in easy stages. It’s a lot of changes all at once. I promise I agree, but maybe we could take one step at a time, with me organizing about terminating the lease of my apartment and moving in with you, and then once that’s settled and we know how that will work then I mate you.”

  “I love you so much. As long as we know you will mate us, that’s fine. Kind of like a traditional engagement, while we do all the pre-wedding planning. I can live with that,” said Kon.

  “Me, too. I love you and want you to be ours, Trinidad,” said Niel.

  “Now, we have a nice quiet venue, with no other people around, and a comfortable, soft blanket. Shall we get naked and practice for our wedding night?” suggested Kon.

  Trinidad let them both pull at her clothing, trying to undress her. She was very happy to be spending the rest of her life with these two men.
